We size the system to your home's square footage, insulation, windows and sun exposure, then check that the existing ductwork can actually move the air the new unit needs. Many homeowners are now choosing a heat pump instead of a straight AC, since one outdoor unit handles both cooling and heating efficiently in our mild valley winters. If you are in SMUD territory, a heat pump may also qualify for rebates through our SMUD approved contractor status.
